go to your school's library and find the SAE Automotive handbook (it is a 3 volume set with the 2nd and 3rd volumes containg more info about automotive systems then anyone should ever know )
These books are HUGE and packed with info. Also see if the have the Bosche Automotive Handbook. It has a good chunk of suspension info though it may be too broad for your needs. Also, look for issues of the SAE Automotive Engineering periodicals. They hold tons of info and give you information on how to get more technical documentation.
