DAMN..... I used to got to the spring nationals religously when I lived in Houston. Never did get a car ready to run in time for it personally. But I did participate in the Pontiac Superbowl at Baytown earlier in 2004. I was on a team of freinds we had a 79 mustang ( i think it was a 79.... it was a Fox body Notchback), I am tring to remember our class, I think it was street... or something like it, Basicaly bracket racing, we dialed in at 13.5 and ran 13.51, 13.9, and a redlight loss (13.4) the car was solid. The engine blew the next weekend during a test and tune session. Had to get a new set of heads and gaskets. We think the water pump seized sometime during the day..... not sure though. I didnt take the engine apart. I was pissed becuase I worked on the Heads intake, and carb, and that meant I was doing a WHOLE lotta taking crap off and checking to see what was still good and what was junk.
