The high pitched whine that I assume comes from the turbo. It makes that sound at idle until it gets to around 160 degrees. Once it hits that temperature it goes away completely, suddenly too, almost like the computer changes something because the engine is warmed up.
Side note, I'm taking a road trip of about 4k miles next month and my brother thinks I should use his car instead of my pickup. Is there anything i should look for before hand that could warn me of a potential breakdown? I drive 1k miles a week and no issues but he says 4k miles in 10 days is a lot more stress on it
