Thumping sound at 40-45 mph

I could really use some help. I have taken my new car back to the dealer three times and their service department is useless.

I have a 2017 Hyundai Tucson that is making a weird noise. Here's what I can tell you about the noise.
--It sounds like it is coming from the front end, driver's side.
-The sounds starts slow and then gets faster (at 40 mph it is thump... thump.... thump.... but as my speed picks up it is thump-thump-thump-thump). It is not totally rhythmic. It can be pretty random sounding.
--Originally I described the sound as popcorn popping. Slow at first and then faster. The sound sometimes sounds like wind resistance. Flap...... flap..... flap-flap-flap-flap-flap. I'm sorry, but I can't tell you for certain if it's a thump or a flap or a pop.
--It doesn't always happen, but when it does it is when I hit 40-45 mph.
--It never happens at slower speeds.
--Braking or turning has no effect on the sound, other than the sounds goes away when speed drops below 40.
--The sound happens even when I'm coasting downhill, as long as I'm going over 40.

The problem is that the sound doesn't ALWAYS happen, even at 40 mph. Often it does, but then it doesn't. Help. It is making me crazy!
If anyone has any idea what this could be, I'd really appreciate your insight. Thanks so much!
