Before I bought it I made sure it was for a 4.3L engine, but I didn't think that 1 year would make all that much of a difference on the placement of the intake. But for $30, it didn't really matter to me.

It doesn't make a difference unless you bought it for another engine.
Give me the link to the auction listing you bought from so i can see the problem.
