Yep, you more likely fried your computer
Take it out and get it tested

YES, this is what you must do if your powering any custom systems. A switch can be installed BUT NOT NECESSARY. What is necessary is a fuse no more then a foot off your + terminal near the battery. The only time it will draw current from your battery is when your radio is on. This is why there is the BLUE wire which is your alternate source of power which runs from your radio to your amps as A SWITCH to turn the amp off when the radio is shut off.
