The USS Hornet did carry a load of bombers like this, but only once. Early in the war, a single mission to bomb Tokyo was attempted by B-25s launched from the Hornet- the famous "Doolittle Raid".

To launch, the entire group of bombers was crowded onto the back end of the flight deck, and they took off one by one into the wind. They did not return back to the Hornet afterward.
Oh wow, I didn't think after seeing so many on the deck that there'd be enough room to cram at the back. Flying into the wind makes sense...reminds me of an episode from "Band Of Brothers"
