Same exact issue. The ignition switch comment was intriguing. I can't find any other references to this issue with those symptoms, but symptoms are dead on. Truck cranks fine but stays in second and will only go into first if you shift it manually buy never above 2nd. Speedo tach and shift light out with the check gages light illuminated.
