what exactly is this bose circuitry that you speak of?


honestly I would be itching to ditch everything Bose and replace it all, I've never heard anything made by Bose that even sounded remotely decent...they're all hype and name, the products are actually some of the worst on the market (speaking of both home and car).

Anyway, no you can't add an EQ to your stock system without at least getting an external amp and new speakers. And there's a 99% chance that you won't be able to swap in a different headunit (OEM or aftermarket) and still have everything work, just by nature of how the Bose systems are set up. You'll most likely have to ditch everything and replace it all at once unfortunately. There are a few cars where the Bose system can be changed and not replaced entirely (new speakers, amp/sub, etc), but in no case will you be able to add an EQ alone and still have it work.
