Are you more skilful than the average driver?

Apparently 80-90% of people think they are safer and more skilful than the average driver. How do you rate yourself on skill and safety compared to other drivers your age and other drivers in general?

I am currently doing my dissertation on the effects of overconfidence and personality on risky driving behaviours. I think the results of this could be especially interesting as new EU legislation will be coming into effect in December prohibiting insurance companies from discriminating against gender. The insurance companies will be looking for other ways to work out who poses the greatest risks on the road so they can hike up their premiums!

Personality has quite a strong biological and genetic base (although widely debated) and finding a link between certain personality types and risky driving behaviour could be quite interesting.

If you have a spare 20 minutes, I would really appreciate it if you could fill in my questionnaire (below). If you're interested in finding out the results then email me and I will send them out when they're ready.

Thank you
