HELP!!! Problem with steering

Hello everyone,

I have an 06 Chevy Cobalt that i bought couple months ago, Just recently, last Friday to be exact, my steering has become an issue. When i was on the freeway, my steering has become hard to turn. However, when i turn the car off, it seems to be the way it is suppose to be. I am pretty sure it is the power steering as mine is an ESP (Electronic Power Steering). I was looking for a reservoir to pour the power steering fluid but I did not find it. This is how I found out that it was electronic. Anyways, I just took my car to a mechanic and he told me that he found 30 different codes that could be the cause. He is not sure what the cause is so he gave me a list of codes. Here they are. P0520, u0101 (Engine), B0081, B1325, B1370, U2103 (Airbag), B0283, B1325, B1480, B2580, B3100, B3109, B3265, U2108, U2111, U2172, (Body Control Module), C0000, C0475, C0895, U2105, U2107 (Power Steering), B1025, B1325, U2100, U2103 (Radio), B3031, B3055, B3060 (Theft Deterrent). Now, is this true? That there could be multiple culprits or just a short that is sending all these fault codes? Or are they trying to rip me off? I read on another post that there is a bulletin and I know there was a recall done for this but ended in 2010. I have done some research and most of it has named the power steering motor as the culprit. All and any responses are appreciated. Thank you.
