The Tamiya and Hasegawa kits I measured came out to 2.0mm, or about 0.080". But, getting Fujimi wheels to fit Tamiya kits is not that simple. The wall of the cavity that holds the poly caps in Fujimi wheels protrude inwards about 3mm- so if you just aded a new center post, the wheels will sit farther out on the car then they are indended. To get these wheels to fit right, you need to find a clever way to remove it, and carefully center drill a hole for the new center post. A small lathe (or a large one- I've done it on a South Bend engine lathe- overkill!) does this quickly and easily, but I don't know of another good way of doing it.
