Trimming required? (new AT Revos)

I realize this is a partial repeat of some earlier threads but want to be sure of the correct solution......apologies if redundant.

I have a stock 2001 X SE, and just replaced standard 255/65/R16 Generals with new 265/70R16 Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos. This adds about 2" to the outer diameter of the tires - from 29" on the stock tire to 31" on the Revos.

I had the shop crank up the torsion bars about an inch and realign, but the tires still rub a little when reversing and turning sharp, or turning hard on road. I am worried what this might mean for offroad performance. I have asked about tightening some more (I have read that up to 1.5" is OK on the X without voiding warranty) but the shop won't do it.

What is the best solution here? Is trimming the only or best answer? Would aftermarket torsion bars help? I don't want to spend a lot of cash, but also don't like the idea of cutting up the X.....

Thx
