Question Does my "southern belle" hate Oklahoma?

Always loved and wanted an 84-86 model Cougar but couldn't find reasonably priced anywhere near me in even half the amazing condition my "new" 87 is in.
Flew to SC out of OKC on the 6th to bring her back and after we counted my cash, the seller later laid 200 cash back on the desk and begged me to get a motel room for the night due to the incoming snow storm sighting the rear wheel drive was not meant to drive on ice and snow.
I'm a redhead and with that comes stubbornness and got to prove them wrong so off I went toward the Smoky mountains in sleet and up and over in heavy snowfall with zero problems.
Got all the way into Oklahoma over the course of the next day and then and only then am i cruising down I-40 in overdrive at about 74 and this hideous buck sensation occurs and then again. I'm thinking WTF and over the course of the continuance of this month, it has gotten worse to the extreme of powering completely down and off as soon as I come to a stop sign or light.

TIA.

Last night was the worst it has been so far and while looking for a way to attach a code reader, I decided to check the transmission fluid to find pretty much nothing on the stick. Added one quart just to see what would occur and drove 122 miles in perfect, purring performance before the first "buck" and then another and then shutting off at first stoplight all the way to 3 restarts just to even get fully into driveway.
