Your ears must have had a lot of practice to tell a 1960's carbed 427 sideoilder from a new(rebuilt) one in a kit. Or would that be a 428 or 429, all used today and in originals. Ooops, don't forget the lil ol 289 and it's distictive sound.

o and btw a magnet doesn't work on aluminum, even if you assume the position.....sigh
