highly doubt its the VIC, dont mess with the chime module unless you want to lose your keyless entry on some models. Problem is with the switch in the tcase. Well not really the switch itself but everything together. solution, disconnect it. the purpose of the four wire is to accommodate different tcases (i.e. 231, 242, 249) which wires are connected corresponds to a different tcase.
