I had a play this afternoon on a old body shell and i was starting to get little bubbles in the paint (along with runs )

Yeah, the runs would signify that! He didn't mention runs though, which leads me to think it may be lack of shaking, or dampness under the paint which escapes through bubbles!
Sometimes I get bubbles at the end of a can, especilally white!
