Well around Auckland both are becoming quite Common, but the WRX is by far and away to common. If style is a consideration then the EVO has to win.

When to comes to comfort I have heard the WRX has the best ride, and more combfterbly seats.
However that is something that is largly down to perosnal choice, and you need to drive each car for an extended to test drive and deciede for yourself.

Both cars being highly strung will have mechanical problems if you thrash them, but both should be quite easy to drive in everyday traffic and will last for ever if driven gently. But get into a red light racing everyday and things will wear quickly.

Also be aware that any car of that Caliber from Japan is likely to have had some kind of compition history that may be covered up by the dealer.
Check for things like Cage and Harness attachment points by lifting the carpet, and of course check all the suspension bolts for recent wear to indicate a change back to factory specs.

And since the EVO is stock I would take it over the WRX, it indicates the previous owner of the WRX likely drove it pretty hard, while the EVO owner kept the car stock and looked after it. maybe.
