Re: Another Tire Pressure Question! Front-Rear Considerations

CapriRacer:

I recently discovered a reason why it might not be necessary to increase the cold tire pressures in the front, and decrease the cold pressures in the back, on my 2010 Honda Accord and my wifes 2005 Corolla:

The coil springs on both are sized differently!.. The front coils are a couple mm thicker than the rear coils. Presumably this is to make up for the difference in front and rear gross axle weights? And if so, can, or should, I maintain the same cold tire pressures front and rear?

Currently, based on front/rear calculations, I arrived at 34.5psi cold in front, and 29.5psi cold rear, on the Accord.

I will say, with that pressure offset, the car ROLLLLLLLLS a lot farther between taps on the gas pedal, than it did with 32-33psi all around. Plus, the steering is a bit more responsive, and more so than I'd prefer.

Thoughts on all of this - springs, weight bias, etc.?
