I have a 2001 vitara 2-door, hard top and I've never had trouble until just recently ...
Mine has about 66,000 miles on it and now, when the engine is hot (been driven 20 miles or more) it will NOT start if you stop it. Once it finally does turn over, it stalls, sputters, pops and backfires.
I've taken it to my mechanic twice and it's now been at the dealership for four days and they can't identify the problem.
Has anyone had this problem? I'm told it's not the starter since it will start 'cold' no problem -- but then what is it? No one knows and I can't afford to keep driving this rental -- does anyone have any ideas?????
