Ok, i have a 2000 ranger 2 wheel drive 2.5L , and its at just over 59,000 miles .I just put brand new spark plugs and wires in.(Bosch platinum) The gap called for .042-.046. I gapped it at .044, Now the engine didnt start missing like this untill i changed these wires and plugs. It starts missing right around 40mph, and if i push the excellerator fast while its in neuteral. I put it through a diagnostic check but no codes came up. The mechanic said it could be a clogged fuel filter, but wouldnt it have been acting up before i changed the plugs and wires if it was the fuel filter?
I was wondering if it could be faulty plugs or wires, which is kind of strange since they are both brand new. before i go and spend some more money trying to fix this problem i need some advise on what it could be. thanks for yur help
