Probably will work with a plate to match the transmission to the transmission. According to V8 Archie they will hold up, but it depends on how hard you drive it.

If the car is an auto it is a t125 three speed, the only auto used in the Fiero. If it is a manual it is probably a 4-speed MY8, unless you have one with a 4.10 drive ratio.

I traded in my 99 Regal because of the problems with the dual sysytem AC. Specialty tool ands equipment are needed to evacuate the compressor etc. I think they replaced the condensor on mine twice....

You say the wiring is shot. I'd suggest a good tune up is in order. Four spark plugs and some wires shouldn't set you back more that $50. When was the fuel filter last replaced? It is a $10 item.
