Any issues with a air intake hose would normally cause a mass air flow sensor fault by way of unmetered air getting inot the inthe intake as a vacuum leak.

I would first start with beeing 100%, no make that 300% the firing order is correct before doing or touching another thing.

Then, reset the timing (instructions are on the emission label).

Yes you're reading the code right at 23.

I'd check the wiring over very carefully first before diving into the sensor itself. By location, it's expeosed to quite a bit of heat and moviement.

Coolant temo sensor is usually the first cuplret in a rich condition. However, if memory serves, the largest injector you can run without having to tweak the ECM Ithought was 22 lbs?

Finally, knock on wood, this thing is leak free.

Nice 5 hour (plus 2 hours in total thaw out and chug a brew now and then breaks) 'little' chore swapping out the radiator, hoses and water pump on...

As I was reading your update, I got thinking about perhaps needing a carb spacer, and/or a vacuum leak between the intake and carb.

Well, the victim in my situation is a Jeep that is only cursed by it's creator's mistakes and is simply fixed by wraping some electrical tape around the water neck for the thermostat housing.

It should go away unless it's really glogged up somewhere like the heater core. Saying that and thinking of a current problem that is very similar I'm having on my end, it oculd also be electrolysis...

The "gunk" could be from someone mixing traditional antifreeze with dexcool previously. What's more concerning is the constant need to refill, which means the system is not sealed. After running it...

Your symptoms normally lead to an faulty ignition component.

Have you checked the fuel pressure out?

Definately sounds like it could be ignition related. With that said, don't cheap out, get ACdelco replacements, it's worth the extra couple of bucks.

I'd also recomment changing out the PCV valve...

It is highly unlikely to do with the trans. How is the trans from dead stop into second?

To Start, even if you switch to a carb, if your state emission require the system with "factory" controls, you'll still need the smog pump, diverter vales, air injection manifolds...
