Hello Folks, I have the 1999 ZX2 2.0 Ford escort. It has 70,700 mils on it. I bought the car used with 23,000 miles, and it has Never given me a problem .... Until the other day. Most every day I drive my son to work, apx. 2.3 miles one way. Well I drove him to work, then returned home with no problem. Upon, picking him up everything changed. Driving there was no problem ... turned off the ign. Waited a couple minutes for him. The engine restarted just fine, BUT when backing up to leave the gas pedal felt different. When I went to pull out in traffic, the engine was double firing with No power. I had all I could do to stay up with traffic. I Mean, I had to put the pedal to the metal to slowly accelerate, and make it home! THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY "NO POWER!" THIS HAS "NEVER" HAPPENED BEFORE ... EVER !
I really don't have a clue as to what the problem is, but need Help immediately to fix it. THANKS, TO ALL Who will help me solve this Mystery, Sincerely, Nitrojc.
