Hesitant Pick and Check Engine Light

Hello. I need help. My 2003 Alero is hesitant to pick up. When I go up a hill it won't go over 30mphs and there is this hissing noise coming from the engine. We can smell smoke in the car when I start it. My gas is decreasing much more than usual. I had a mechanic friend recommend to change the gasskit (spelling). My check engine light is on also. My check engine light was on before this and a local repair shop said that it was the Sensor 2 and not that important.

Please help with advice and around the price I should pay for the service. People cheat you, male or female.

Thank you.

I have a 99 Alero and have been getting a roaring noise from the rear and was told it was my wheel bearings; any info on how to replace these myself? Had the front ones done and I am new to the area and I think I got hosed (he's the one who told me the rear ones may need to be replaced). Would like to see if this is something I can do myself. Also any recommendations on the parts?

Window clips and door trim...

Hey all.. Been following window issues here for awhile.. Got an '02 Alero whose window finally died (went down, won't come back up). Motor runs fine, you can hear it going "up and down" (spinning at least). I'm assuming my 'white clips' that from what I read sit on the bottom of the glass are broken off. Before I look around to ordering them (which is better btw, going to dealer or somewhere like autozone, want good replacements), I need to figure out how to get into the door panel area. Do I need to buy one of those trim tools? What type/style should I look for? Autozone search revealed a "generic trim tool", looks like a snakes forked tongue on a stick. Is that right? I thought it was something wide, like a putty knife with sharp u-curve type end (to pull the panel?)..

If anyone has seen a write-up instructional type document and could post some linkage, or could aid me with some "how to" help, I'd really appreciate it. Never done anything with removing panels, and don't want to ruin the ride!

Thanks,

eR

02 Alero Cruise and blinker problem

02 Alero 3.4 V-6 Automati 98000 miles. Bought the car with 34,000 miles on it cruise control has never worked. Took it to a shop and the told me that it had to be the control module (thing that the cables go into) replaced it with no luck. When you push the button on the sterring wheel the light comes on but I noticed that it goes on and off. I was never able to get the word "cruise" to light up on the dash until today when I was driving down a gravel road and hit the "set" button the "cruise" light would come on and go off. I am guessing this is the "clock spring" but when I go to gmpartsdirect I am unable to find such a part....Is it called something else?

Also the turn signals only work part of the time. I had both of these problems on a Ford Aerostar and the clockspring fixed them both...Is it possible that the clockspring is also the problem here? I read about fixes for the emergency flashers and turn signals on the forums but mine does not make a clicking noise, nor have I had a problem with the emergency flashers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am changing my front wheel hub assembly (bearing finished)

I have been able to remove the axle nut and the 3 other bolts.

I am however having a hard time removing my rotor from the hub and the hub assembly.

Any suggestions (trying to salvage rotor)? I have alredy put Wd40 any where i can).

*DECIDED TO REPLACE THE ROTOR. ROTOR IS NOW OFF. I AM ABLE TO MOVE THE AXLE ROD BACK BY TAPPING ON THE AXLE ROD (USING OLD NUT) BUT THE HUB WILL NOT COME OFF!!!*
