It needed a new starter about 6 months ago which I replaced, but for the last couple months it has taken a couple extra seconds of cranking to start, and when it does its kind of a rough start. The last couple days the rough start doesnt completely get the engine running and I have to crank it for up to about 8 seconds and then it barely runs (very low rpm). If its any help, I drive different distances to work every day....if I take the interstate and have to drive a ways back and forth, I dont have any problems. If I am just driving around town stopping at red lights a lot, I have problems first thing in the morning sitting at a red light by my house. While I wait for the light to change, the engine will sputter and then surge after which the check engine light will come on. I have taken my Jeep to auto zone and the o2 sensor code came up. It starts fine and drives okay, but when I stop at a light, the engine shuts off most of the time or idles really rough.

It's temperature related, this problem began earlier this year around March, but it only happened on days when it was cool outside. Once the heat of summer came around, the problem went away. Now that it's cool again, I am having trouble.

Any ideas? I've read several posts from others with the same problem, but have yet to read about anyone who has actually solved this issue. Some follow up from someone who resolved this would be nice.

My sons trans case makes a funny noise when taking off from a stop, I think its the chain (I'm not transmission or tarnsfer case guy).
But if it's the chain I,d rather just put a good used or reman in.
Dose anybody kw where I can get a resonably priced one.

Heres my problem the oil filter adaptor on my son's 4.0l is leaking oil, we got a new gasket, but we could not remove the bolt holding it on, I've the right T-60 bit 1/2" DR., I evan tried a impact on it, bu it wouldn't budge eather way.
Anybody out there ever come across this prolbem, if so how did you remove it?
