I have a 95 accord and when I'm drivin to the left in a curve the car starts shaking, but this doesn't happen when I drive to the right.
I went to car repair and they check the stearing rack and replace the internal terminals (I don't know the correct name) of the stearing rack,
they check also the tie rods and balanced and said that everything is ok.

then I checked and still the same, I went to a junkyard and bought a stearing rack and replaced and helps a little bit but still happened the same, not as bad as it was before.

Can anyone help me on this please?

Hate to double post but.

while im thinking about it and logged in, my Accord, when breaking, will hook to the left. and Naturally it just drags to the left. We have a civic that does the same thing but to the right I believe.

What could be the case for this?

Also the brakes are pathetically weak. To get it to stop, I push the brake pedal all the way back as if im slamming on brakes. It just slides back with no force until it gets towards the far back. Sometimes occasionally it will have force halfway towards the back, but it will drop and wont have force till the pedal hits the back.

Is there any way to test the proportioning valve? Or could it even be a master cylinder problem?

1988 Accord Fuel gauge + electrics

Alright I figured out why the starter would'nt work on my 1988 Accord. The engine block to frame ground wire was attached to a bolt on the thermometer casing. It had gotten covered in gunk and a ground signal wasnt getting through. I took it off, cleaned it, filed both ends and it works like a charm. has been for the past 3 days.

Now some more problems.

I took the drivers side fuse cluster down looking for the main relay. (for the last problem) and apparently I crossed wires or something that shouldnt be crossed.
Ive yet to go fix it but the problems are: The left turn signal goes double speed. the right side door light doesnt come on when its open. Ive yet to go check it but im going to today. should be fixed by redoing the wires.

Now the main problem. The fuel gauge reading doesnt fall below half.
I dropped the tank and cleaned the tank out, and cleaned the crud off of the fuel tank sensor. I put it back in and the sensor will go up to full tank, and drop down to half, but wont go any lower. its actually just slightly above half.
Why could this be happening?

By the way, if any mods read this my previous 2 threads can be unstickied.

They are called. 1988 Start Relay, and 1988 main fuse I believe.

I searched the forums but didn't see anything regarding a write up for a 1998 Accord Haft Shaft Replacement. The CV joint is creaking an since the half shaft runs about $70.00 I figured it might just be easier and worth replacing the shaft instead of trying to fix the boot etc. Help!

:banghead: My wifes 97 Accord just quits running while driving down the road, but then restarts right away. Engine dies, temp. gauge dies, but everything else is still working! radio, lights, gas gauge. It's as if the key switch was turned to ACC.. I'm guessing the ignition switch or main relay. Is there any way to nail it down as to which one is the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated! And easier on my wallet!

My tach jump wildly (fluctuates) while driving both city streets and freeway driving., intermittent problem. Sometime as the tach jumps like it has a mind of its own to "0" reading with hesitation and at times it stall, with hard to restart, like there is no fuel or spark, feels like it's choking felling my vehicle (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/#) symptoms.. usually the tach starts jumping wildly, that would be mu first warning usuall i can pull over or drive in the slow lanes of the freeway and at time it will stall, with hard to restart. does anyone have a simlilar experience(s). i took it to my tech and since he can't duplicate the problem, he said that there is nothing he can do till it happens again. When this does happen there is no check eng light (cel). After all that happends.. later on the vehicle runs fine like there is no problem ..... till it happens again..... Does anyine know how to fix this issue. Thx

88 accord, where is main relay?

Where is the main relay on an 88 Accord located? I have been looking and CANNOT find it, tbh its really pissing me off.

Ive looked undernearth the drivers side fuse area. Ive read on some places that it should be located under there tucked up near the heater duct but its not.

Ive been to an auto place and they said there is two possible main relays.

I found one that is simliar. its a 4 pronged relay in a tin casing that connects near the fuel pump relay.

the difference between that one and the one at the auto place is prongs.

There are 4 prongs. 2 copper and 2 silver looking ones. the difference is the prongs are set like this.

--l---l <--- bronze on mine (edit) Ignore the - signs in on the diagram. stupid forum kept ruining the shape.
---l-l <--- silver on mine.

Its the opposite on the ones at the store, but the 4 prongs are in the same place.

Im thinking its possible for them to be the same but that be a more updated model.

and if that is EVEN the main relay.

The other version I seen has six prongs, but I havent been able to find that in my car yet...............

So I replaced these and want to go back for an align but now I remembered someone said I need the upper control arm on the passenger side. I know the brake pad on that wheel wants to wear quicker than the other side. I checked the control arm and I don't see anything wrong with it. I am hoping I can replace the pads and then get an alignment. What could be wrong with this upper control arm that I am not seeing?

Hey all. I have a 1990 Accord EX that's had speedo issues for a few days now. I've checked the 3 wires going TO the VSS as per FSM directions, and I have continuity on the ground, battery voltage to the yellow, and 4.68V on the orange. The speedo still works from time to time... it just has me confused, because most electrical parts just quit completely, right? Is there any way to test the VSS? Thanks, y'all.
