Starter relay wiring?

i am looking for a good diagram of how the 97 sunfire 2.4 wiring should be running through the Relay. I am concerned about noise coming from the engine/transmission when sitting in park idling. Sounds kind of like a knock but you cant here it at any other point. i noticed while changing motors out that there are alot of splices going to the starter and the relay. I am worried that the starter gear is always engaged.

Thanks for the help.

Was passing a truck on a hill and the trans downshifted from 4th to 2nd and the engine red-lined for a couple seconds till I could get the cruise control off. It started what appears lifter noise, sounding like a diesel when warm and idling. Once above 1500 rpm the noise goes away for the most part. When cold the engine sounds normal. Cold idle oil pressure is 50 psi or higher, 75 at 1500 rpm or higher; warm it's 25 to 50. Could it be the pump or am I gonna have to break down and pull the cams?

Hey everyone. New to the forum, so I apologize if I do anything incorrectly... lol. But umm, I have been having this issue with my car, so let me put it out there and see what if you can guide me in the right direction.

I took my car out and noticed that my car has been smoking from the front right side of the vehicle. It's not a coolant or radiator issue as that has all been fixed, however I noticed a leak (pink fluid) leaking onto a hot pipe which is causing it to smoke. I assume it's coming from the transmission and I think I took a picture of where the issue is, but I wanted to throw it out there and see what you guys think. If you guys can tell me based on the picture, what it seems to be, and maybe what it MAY cost me to fix, I would be greatly appreciated.

Please note that this picture should be rotated to show the leak going downwards, but you get the idea.

My husband has a 95 chevy cavalier z24 2.3l automatic. About a year ago he started having a misfire problem in cylinders 1 and 3. Since we have had at least 5 mechanics look at the car -- some backyard mechanics and the others certified mechanics.
He has replaced the following:
Timimg Chain
Fuel Rail
ECM
ICM
Hydraulic Lifters
Coils
Coil Pack
Coil Housing
Spark Plugs
O rings on the fuel injector base
Throtle sensor
Crank Sensor
O2 sensor
MAp Sensor
MAF Sensor(Not sure -- said he has replaced so many)
Checked the intake manifold gasket for leaks
Sparks plugs are gapped properly
Checked for vacuum leaks by sparying starter fluid(?)

After all this the car is still not turning over. We put the new computer in last night and it still will not turn over. It tried and backfired but to luck. He is trying to avoid pulling the head off again due to the cost of replacing the head gasket again.

Ok so my sister bought a 1998 2.2L Cavalier about 2 weeks ago. Drives great runs great starts great. Well she came home one day and said the oil light was coming on at idle.

Checked oil level it was full.

Changed pressure switch figuring it was bad and problem went away... for about a week and now it is coming on again at idle.

When I changed the switch I ran some seafoam in the oil at idle for about 5-10 mins to clean any crud out of the engine. Then changed the oil with 5-20w sythetic oil.

When she bought the car she was told the engine was rebuilt around 10K miles ago. Possible it wasn't rebuilt?

Any ideas would really help, thanks.

EDIT: Also when the oil light tends to come on the temp guage is near the top end (About 3/4 mark or more) and the rad fan doesnt always come on light I think it shound)

Alright, here is how it all started. I lost oil pressure in the original engine, decided it best to look for a different engine seeing as the original had 247,xxx miles on it.

got a 2000 2.4 with 100000 miles on it and installed it. after getting the engine back in the car and everything connected I went to start it for the first time and nothing but a tiny little click. So I start diagnosing what I forgot or missed. I found that the wires on the starter were still loose, I figure no big deal i've done this before right. anyways I get in a hurry and start tightening up the positive wire on the starter when my wrench hits the edge of the fuel rail and a small spark, then nothing. I checked for burnt wires, found none. Then I decide maybe a fuse, checked them all, all is good. so now I am lost I really need to figure this out so I can start driving the beast again. Thanks for any input you have on the matter.

Can the oil pan be pulled in a 97 Cav with the 2.2. If so is it necessary to raise the motor? The engine has well over 200K and I would like to change the bearings - rods & mains

How can the ignition control module that the coils mount on be checked. The car seems to still hesitate occasionally when warm. Could this be heating up and creating problems?

Thanks,

Ok guys, here is my other problem! Along side the car not liking to fun when its wet outside, the oil light comes on. It comes on when the car is fully warm, and only when at red lights. It only comes on after abt 20 to 30 min of driving, and everything is nice and warm. Now, I know the oil level is good bc i checked it. So since it only does it at around 600 to 700 rpms after some driving and after everything is good and hot, I thought maybe it was just thin oil. So I went from 5w30 to 10w30. Well, still the same thing. So then i thought maybe it was the pressure sensor, and for 6 bucks i figured it was worth the shot. Well, still the same thing. So i finally accepted the reality and condemed the oil pump. So today after 6 hours of working on her, i replaced the oil pump, screen and shaft. It started great, sounded even better, no chattering, nothing. I figured it was fixed and no more worries. Well, much to my avail, and my sadness, after driving around for abt 30 min tonight, the light came on. But not the same way. Now it comes on, and flickers, or it will stay lit. But the min i tap (and i mean tap the accelerator and bring up the RPM up maybe 10 RPM's at most) the accelerator, it goes off, but when it levels out, it comes back on. Now i dont know what else to think of. She runs good, and i just want it to make it through the winter for my gf. But now im out of ideas. Now, im thinking maybe going thicker oil. Maybe 10w40? im not sure. any ideas would be great!!! Thanks guys. Oh i just got the car for her and it says 125,000 miles on the odometer, but im thinking the car has had a different motor in it bc on the valve cover it says 97 cavalier. But again im not sure. I only bought the car for 250.00 so i rly dont care abt it that much, but this is the first car anyone has ever bought my gf (including parents and ex's) so she rly loves it bc its hers. So any help would be great!
