Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R Nismo

To practice a bit with my airbrush I picked up a simple Aoshima kit out of my pile.

It's the Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R Nismo.

Image: http://www.modelbrouwers.nl/albums/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_003_%28Medium%29~19.jpg

There are not many parts in it. Some extra parts for the drift option are included but I think I don't use them.

Image: http://www.modelbrouwers.nl/albums/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_004_%28Medium%29~18.jpg

It will be OOB but only some different colors.

The body is already sanded, and the panellines are cutted out.

Image: http://www.modelbrouwers.nl/albums/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_005_%28Medium%29~16.jpg

Image: http://www.modelbrouwers.nl/albums/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_006_%28Medium%29~15.jpg

The kit includes some nice Nismo rims, which will be used of course.

Image: http://www.modelbrouwers.nl/albums/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_007_%28Medium%29~13.jpg

Image: http://www.modelbrouwers.nl/albums/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_008_%28Medium%29~12.jpg

I think this Metallic Midnight Blue from AutoAir would be a nice color for the body.

Image: http://www.modelbrouwers.nl/albums/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_009_%28Medium%29~11.jpg

The interior will be grey/blue.

This is a Tamiya porsche GT3 kit. I bought the reninsance rs kit for it. The reninance kit is kinda low quality as fitment is pretty bad. I am still working on the bumpers to get them to fit better to the tamiya kit.

I added Carrera GT brakes, Carrera GT seats, Carrera GT steering wheel and shifter. Made GT3 RS roll cage. Sportech Mono wheels.

CF mirrors CF roof. Some pics of the car:

Forgive me the purists, but I liked this car a lot. To me that is the hot rod essence. To take one part here, put another over there and… Voilà! You got a custom ride!
*Ferrambo*
1960 Rambler Wagon, chassi made by Art Morrison, Ferrari´s 3.6 V8 engine, front and rear suspension. All parts from a crashed 360 Modena.
By Divers Street Rods.
2008 Ridler Award (Autorama) winner.
Purists or not, the fact is: this ride represents an outstanding building!

Image: http://www.small-dreams.com/Drago/Passo/ferrambo/01.jpg
Image: http://www.small-dreams.com/Drago/Passo/ferrambo/02a.jpg

And there it is!!
Base kit: ‘53 Ford Wagon from R&R resin
Image: http://www.small-dreams.com/Drago/Passo/ferrambo/03.jpg

At first, I did not have in mind to make the model 100% equal to the original Ferrambo. Insomuch, I gave the fenders a square look and was intended to use this wheels set.
Image: http://www.small-dreams.com/Drago/Passo/ferrambo/17.jpg

But, as we used to say: “Once in hell, give daemon a hug”! So, I asked myself: why not???
So, I decided to build “THE” Ferrambo. I’ll try to do my best to make it happens.

Side panel that was sanding away!
Image: http://www.small-dreams.com/Drago/Passo/ferrambo/04.jpg

The body without originals pillars / new ones in place (correct angle)
Image: http://www.small-dreams.com/Drago/Passo/ferrambo/05.jpg
Image: http://www.small-dreams.com/Drago/Passo/ferrambo/06.jpg

The original rear with rounded tail lights / new rear panel made with heated styrene / new egg-shaped tail lights made with Tamiya´s putty and some Dremel working on it.
Image: http://www.small-dreams.com/Drago/Passo/ferrambo/07.jpg
Image: http://www.small-dreams.com/Drago/Passo/ferrambo/08.jpg
Image: http://www.small-dreams.com/Drago/Passo/ferrambo/09.jpg
Image: http://www.small-dreams.com/Drago/Passo/ferrambo/10.jpg

The front panel has received a 2mm styrene piece. The original ’53 Ford hood is too peaked and was smoothed. Also, another piece of styrene was glued to make the rounded edge fabrication possible.

Image: http://www.small-dreams.com/Drago/Passo/ferrambo/13.jpg
Image: http://www.small-dreams.com/Drago/Passo/ferrambo/14.jpg

Still there is a lot of body work to do.
So far, the body is waiting for the new fender lines.

AMT AC Cobra 289 Restoration

I was not sure whether I should put this into the Muscle Car or street section. I think it is probably both!

I am having a go at restoring this old AMT kit that I dug out of my loft after reading a magazine article on one that jogged my memory, I thought it would be a good project as it is quite unusual to see an AC Cobra that hasn't got the 427's more muscular wider wheel arches.

The kit is from the early Eighties I think, I originally handpainted it with Humbrol paint! The wire wheels that came with the kit are horrible, I didn't know what to replace them with because the kit is 1:25 scale and all other Cobras kits seem to be 1:24. In the end I stole some from a Revell 1:24 scale one. I know they are a bit too big but I think they don't look too bad. I am using the Revell kit's tyres on the front and the original tyres on the wider rears.

As you can see in the original photographs the ride height and the position of the wheels relative to the arches was all wrong so I had to do a lot of work to get the suspension lowered and the wheels moved until I was happy.

I also spent a long time on the windscreen and made my own glass from acetate which fits without the need for glue which is very handy!

Above pic shows original Humbrol paint finish and obvious mould lines!

Above pic shows original ride height too high.

Just started this. Not too much to the kit so I don't have a lot of photos. I am not sure how detailed I will go with the engine bay. I do want to go fairly detailed on the interior. I used to have one of these trucks so I have some good interior photos.

I went with the brown from the 720 my dad when I was a kid :)
