Has anyone installed a Bulldog remote starter on a 02 Century with computer key?? Shopko has them on sale and friend is thinking of getting one. Looks to me that a bypass module would be needed also. Any feed back on these remote starters or can suggest a better one would be appreciated.

any pro's or con's

99 Buick Century gear noise around Power Steering pump.

I am hearing a gear spinning noise at or around the power steering pump area where the pump mounts. It only occurs at or near idle rpm speed. When I manually accelerate the engine the noise drops out. As rpm's decrease the noise pop's back. Any ideas....? DOHC problem? or Power Steering pump interface shaft...? Any suggestions on best inexpensive documentation source to show this area in an exploded view.

Code P0481 on 99 Century

I have a service engine code of P0481, which Auto Zone says is: Engine cooling fan primary circuit condition. Possible causes are: Cooling fan relay defective or wiring and connectors.

I made sure both fans are working. Pulled all the relays and fuses related to the cooling circuits. Cleaned and checked for corrosion.

Is there any way to know which relay is bad, because there are two or 3 labeled part of the cooling system?

Any suggestions??

02 Custom anti-lock + lights on

02 Custom 109k,

The Service Vehicle Soon, Antilock brake, and trac off lights on. Here is the strange thing: Vehicle Parked, engine running, Transmission in Park, no lights on but Turning the steering wheel 1/2 turn to the right mentiioned lights come on, turn off vehicle and restart no lights on. Again turn wheels left from center just a little over a full turn and mentioned lights come on, turn off vehicle and restart and lights remain on.

I took vehicle for test drive and front bearings seemed to be OK.

I am thinking it is a bad wire on the left front wheel sensor. If not to cold tommorrow I will try to find out problem. Friends Car.

Any thoughts or advice. Thanks

1999 Century Headlight Issues

From what I read it sounds like the malfunction switch but I thought I'd get a second opinion before ripping things apart.
First, I noticed an occasional flicker in the headlights, then they stoped comming on by the light sensor and the manual switch wouldn't work either. The only way to turn them on was to flash the highbeams on and off. That no longer works, actually the highbeams wont even stay on unless I hold the switch towards myself the whole time i'm driving. Also side markers come on automatically at night, and can be turned on and off with the manual switch during the day. Tail lights ans signals all function normally. I didn't try and replace the relays because the only two I found were on the fuse pannel under the hood, two seperate relays for the left and right but being that they both failed at the same time I saw no reason to replace them. Everything else on the car works just fine except for the fuel gauge which occasionally will jump around spontaniously.
Does this sound like the Malfunction switch or have I missed something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Mark.:banghead:

my father in law gave me an '02 Century V6 with about 75K on it. The low coolant light is on, but the radiator and recovery tank are both full. i've bled the air out from the bleeder valves, but it stays on. the stuff in the recovery tank looks a little slimy - like there's a bit of oil in it - but the coolant in the radiator and engine look good. Could it just be the sender? it doesn't run hot at all. Where is the sender on that car? Thanks

Clunk when turning left from a stop - 94 buick century

I have a 94 buick century with ~102k miles. If I come to a stop, then turn the wheel to the left before executing a fast turn (hit the gas hard, to get across multiple lanes of traffic, for example), I hear a loud clunk coming from the driver side front. I initially thought the problem was a bad CV joint, but the boots on the inner and outer CV joint look fine to my (unqualified) eye. Making turns at speed is not a problem. I've tried doing the 9 and 3, 12 & 6 test with the wheel (grasp the wheel at 9 & 3 or 12& 6 and rock) and have had no play, so I assume the tie rod ends are fine.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what the clunking sound could be?
