Hi everyone,
I'm new :o and I have a problem that I hope someone will be able to help me with :)
I've had this car for 2 years, and it has always started first time every time ... until Thursday morning
I had to call the RAC out, and he checked the fuses, plugs and had a look in the throttle housing unit. He poured some petrol in the unit, and the car started no problem. He said it could be the fuel filter, so I arranged to have that done on the Friday. It continued to start throughout the day.
On Friday morning, I go into the garage and it wouldn't start again <sigh> So I call the RAC again, and a different man comes, and does the same checks, then sprays some carburettor cleaning stuff (??) in the throttle housing unit, and she started no problem again. He said it could maybe be the plugs. So off I drove to the garage and had the plugs and fuel filter changed.
Saturday morning ..... yip .... Enter the 3rd RAC man  . I explained it all to him, and whilst he was looking at the throttle housing unit, be burst one of the water hose joints, (the one where 3 other hoses connect too!!) and the water was everywhere. So, after about 50 minutes wait while he temporarily fixed the hose joint, he also sprayed some carb cleaner into the unit and she fired up no probs again!!!
Off I go to Edinburgh and after stopping and starting the car all day I go to start the car (after it had been idle for about 3 hours) to go home, and no joy!!! So, enter RAC man No4, he sprays the same thing into the unit, and off I go back to Fife.
So, here I am, Bank Holiday weekend, car in garage unable to go anywhere, and not able to contact any garage until Tuesday!!
Sorry for the long post, but I thought you'd all like to have the full picture, and anyway ... you know what us women are like when we get started!! ;)
All help is greatly appreciated ..... thanks for reading this saga!! :silly2:

Real saga indeed :D
Alas, I cannot help you, I don't know well these problems of mechanic. But, if you've this "magic spray" try to do as the men did, it could maybe work ;)
Good luck !

Thanks for the lovely welcome, Michaël :flash:
Unfortunately, I haven't got any of the 'magic spray' - I wish I did :D
Still, perhaps someone else will have an answer to my prayers ...

Hi Michael,
Thought I'd let you know that my car is now fixed. It was the Coolant Temperature Sensor :D
Thanks again for taking the time to read my post.
Take it easy ....... :)
Regards,
Kathy
