Worn Rings?

I changed my spark plugs today for the first time since I've had this 98 3.2L Rodeo. The #6 wasn't as difficult as I had thought it would be. My concern is that 4 of the 6 plugs had oil on the spark end (threaded potion). I always thought that was an indication of worn rings on the pistons. I do loose a qt of oil every 1000 miles or so (although I read that is normal for the 3.2L). I never have any smoke though. I researched and found this thread:

Do I need to be concerned? My truck runs perfect. Thanks

Nope, no concern, that is pretty normal. I changed my plugs at 50k and saw the same thing.

No worries.

Some of the guys at Planet Isuzu said it sounds like the same thing I sited in the linked thread. The upper gaskets on the valve covers wearing and leaking down into the plug wells. When I removed the plugs the oil coated the threads. It sounds plausible given the lack of smoke that oil in the chamber would produce. I've added replacing them to my list of things to do.
