I have an 03 s-10 with extra play in the steering wheel. All the front end tie rods, ball joints, etc are tight. I took the air cleaner off and where the steering comes from the cab and connects to the steering gear there is a "slip" or "flex" joint. When I turn the wheel this shows play. How much is normal for this joint? What is its technical name. The second area I noticed a possible problem is the joint where the steering exits the cab. There is a slight clunk when you turn the wheel in this joint. How difficult is it to replace these? Any IDEAS will be appreciated.
