may I ask y u chopped the bell housing off?

i like that you separated the housings. gives i more of an authentic look that they are separate pieces. keep up the great work.

rollin80s - I agree, thank you!

A little update:

almost done here, need to darken a little more, some smoke and preview

What about these wheels?
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b144/aalmeida/Revell%2067%20Dodge%20Charger%20426%20Hemi/roda.jpg

The car and wheels color still unknown... thank you for the comments.

Not those wheels. Sorry, I just do not like modern style wheels on old cars like this. My suggestion would be some 18" Torque Thrust II or some 18" Halibrands.

"rsxse240" I agree, I will use those provide by Revell.

Here is the test on front bumber, base gloss black and rub Kosutte Gin San over it. I liked a lot the old style look, I will repeat on the rear bump.

what's Kosutte Gin San?

tigeraid
03-28-2010, 04:04 PM
Yeah, what's that, I've never heard of it? And you say it's a RUB? Not airbrushed like Alcad?

rsxse240
03-28-2010, 05:12 PM
There was another thread on this stuff in the main section of car modeling. Stuff looks to be pretty good. I'd like to get my hands on some. I have some of the gold powder which works quite well for military stuff, but I was never able to get a brilliant shine like that stuff.

AAlmeida

Wolf95 and tigeraid

It's a powder and you have to rub not airbrushed like Alclad II. Read this Alclad II vs. Kosutte Gin San ...bye, bye Alclad! (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=979823)
I'm not sure, but this product is discontinued, if you find an old stock, buy it! :grinyes:

tigeraid
03-28-2010, 07:13 PM
ah crap, of course it'd be discontinued. :(

rsxse240
03-28-2010, 08:44 PM
I have no doubt it's discontinued due to health reasons. Metal powder is EXTREMELY toxic and can be absorbed through your SKIN! That and it might contain lead.

I really like the color you have chosen. are you planning on putting a stripe on it or something?

Looks great so far, magic metal powder stuff gives very impressive finish!

Im still amazed at how the bumpers come out using that stuff. Im soooo dissapointed though that i can't find it anywhere.

Looking really impressive so far, I will be following this as I'm doing the amt version (for far too long should be finished now!). This is the link if you want to compare with Revell:

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=961603&highlight=dodge+charger

In my opinion the Revell version is far superior but wasn't around when I got the amt version (which still has a good shape). Looking forward to more progress.

Thank you for the comments. Here is the preview when it finished. Interior all white white, details in chrome and dark blue carpet... probably.
The height is not correct yet, I need to figure out how to low a little, never did before...

Looking good, shame you had to re-paint, what happened? I have had plenty of disasters that needed stripping and re-painting too (some twice!) so I no how you feel.

Viccario I was cleaning ther airbrush and had a little thinner inside, accidentally I touched the trigger and ... you know...

What a nightmare, I too have had to repaint before, but you must have been extremely annoyed with yourself, I know I would have uttered a few choice words!

Anyway, I'm sure you'll get it looking better than ever.

Wow--now it's gone from a possible sleeper to attention-grabber. Can't wait to see how both bumpers turn out: the front bumper looked pretty good in preview.
