Sierra SOHC 2,0 L "Pinto" Tuning

Hi to all the sierra freaks out there, I have a few questions when it comes to fuel pumps.
I'm currently rebuilding my Sierra sohc 2.0l engine.
I'ts going to be an N/A tuned engine, no turbo here.
dual 45 dcoe webers, and the shop where i've bought all the parts sent me an electric fuel pump. The pump should be good enough for 200bhp said the salesman.
well that's cool and all, but i used to have a mechanical pump. And i'm not quite sure where I should place the pump.
The fuel pump is a AEG unit, and I know nothing about it.
And I don't know what the numbers on the unit means ecxept the 12v part...

Can someone help me out here?
Can this pump suck the fuel, or must it be placed close to the tank?
Can I use this unit in addition to the mechanical?
