Need D15b2 answers buying motor
01-29-2010, 02:54 PM
i have a 1991 std civic 4 speed manual with a d15b1 (bad compression) and pm9 ecu i can't find a replacement other than a 1991 D15b2. my questions are can i use my ecu or do i need a pm5 ( will my existing wiring plug right in)? can my transmission and flywheel retro fit? can i install my existing dpfi onto the motor? can i use my starter, timing belt, and alternator? I just need to get a motor in it fast and the mechanic who has the car is weary of anything except an exact replacement so any additional info will help. im trying to convince him there is no difference but he begs to differ. I had two cars die on me last week and need to turn this into my daily driver till my swap shop has availability to drop my jdm motor in 2 months. thanks so much guys ive been using this forum for 2 years everyone is great here thanks for all the diy posts. the reason im posting is i have gotten mixed answers about this topic so i started a thread to get the proper answers.
