ZC valve adustmentChen 01-27-2010, 08:38 PM I just adjusted my valves. DOHC ZC. First I did .015 intake and .017 exhaust Put it all back together and they were noisy. Second time, .013 intake and .015 exhaust Still noisy. And the idle bounces up to about 1,200 and down. Up and down, up and down. This is my first time doing valves, but I followed all the directions I had and stayed within the specs. Intake: .013 - .017 Exhaust: .015 - .019 Anyone have input or ideas about what my problem might be? Chen 01-28-2010, 01:11 PM Would there be any problems with me going tighter than the lowest spec? Chen 01-28-2010, 04:16 PM Ok, I've been doing a lot of searching around on this and I'm not convinced that I am using the right specs. INTAKE: .013mm - .017mm or .13mm - .17mm EXHAUST: .015mm - .019mm or .15mm - .19mm Also, CDN GUNNER over on thezcr recommends: "0.0012mm for exhaust and 0.010mm for intake is best. Too tight and the dam thing will not start too loose and you"ll have a bad idle." Any thoughts on this? Too tight? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Chen 01-28-2010, 04:45 PM Ok, apparently persistence in logic has prevailed. I feel like an idiot, considering how meticulous and detailed I am. These are the very kinds of mistakes that I try so hard to avoid, but I guess I messed up on this one. I was thinking in terms of mm's but I was looking at the inches measurement on the gauge. So I actually set the intake valves to .013in which is .33mm (supposed to be .13mm min.) And I made the same mistake with the exhaust. So the new question is whether or not I would have screwed anything up by running it with those incorrect measurements? Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2013
