this was hilarious, a vette was ahead of my at a stoplight and then picked up and switched lanes... he went up to about 40 and kept going. i figured you only live once, so i pulled right next to him and slammed on the accelerator. keep in mind i have an auto...

well i actually hung in there a lot longer than i thought, right after i gassed up the corvette revved up and we were heading down a pretty strip of road. it took him about 3-4 seconds to get 2 car lengths ahead of me, and then he took off to about 8-10 car lengths ahead of me.

it was some funny shit tho, watching an old 240 pull up to a vette and challenging him, people watching, lol. i could see him laughing his ass off in my rear view mirror after we were done and he pulled up behind me (i passed him at the end but i think he started breaking.... well he must have, i didn't see any break lights ...but i didn't beat a new vette!). my nismo hung in there pretty good!!!

What makes this board great is people brag about how they lose..

Unless you had a high boost engine, you couldnt take a vette...this things are SO powerful, even in an Auto 50th Anniversary, you can handle most "Sport Compacts", (god I HATE myself for using that term)

yea, i usually don't brag about how i lose but i think i had some good accelertion for about 3 seconds.. lol

yea those things are beasts, i would never normally challenge anything like that but i was bored. he was most likely toying with me for those few seconds anyway...

o, how i would wish to have an 11sec ka-t

I since I spend a good deal of the year in southern california and I get to see many very nice european sports cars it is sometimes fun to go up and rev next to these middle aged guys on the freeway in their ferrari f50's and see how fast those cars really are. but I do look forward to the day when I rev they go and I go faster. maybe doing what I do helps give me the motivation to keep wanting to make my 240 into an even meaner beast.

yea i think he engine braked or down shifted... but i had a mean 3-4 sec when we were dead even or within a car length or two, and he was definately at WOT, i could hear it.
