Front Brakes

Well, after 135K miles it's time to change the front brakes on our 2000 Rodeo. The dealer quoted me $150 for the set but I find that just a bit much... Are there any good after market pads that anyone has used and found to be of really good quality?
Thanks

I tend to stick with Bendix or Raybestos. They both have several choices all the way up to ceramics.

Which ones tend to last longer, semi- metalic or ceramic?

Has anyone replaced the front pads with ceramic ones? I have heard that they could damage the rotor? Any feedback would be good since I plan on doing the work this weekend.
Thanks

That is a thread about the rears.

I believe the oem pad is a ceramic by Akebono. Very good, long lasting pad.
