84 22r Carb help

I have an 84 Toyota Pickup with a 22r that is hard to start when cold and especially if it has been sitting for a while like it usually does. If I back off the air cleaner nut and spray in some starting fluid it fires right off. Otherwise it takes a lot of pumping and cranking to get it going. I am looking for some articles to help me know what to do to get my truck to start easier. Can anyone recommend web sites or articles on toyota truck carbarators?

Thanks.

This is a great article. Thanks for the info. I took a look at my carb and found the choke butterfly valve was stuck open when the engine was cold. I sprayed some carb cleaner around it and freed it up. Now it starts up and runs great.

Thanks.
