my family member has this manual 5sp s10 4X4 4.3L..the front drive shaft at the transfer case has play..there is a 1/2 pint sized can looking componet where the U joint would be.. the drive shaft slides into it and this is where its got too much play. getting a slight vib on accel/de-cel...

do I need a new drive shaft or when sliding this out I will be able to replace this can looking componet..

the opposite end of this drive shaft goes to the fornt diff with the standard X u joint..

I got it figured out..this is a 1994 and 1/2 S10...same as the 1995 S10 shaft,It is a 26032451 CNR ...the worn part that connects the the transfer case is a drive shaft non replaceable part..rebuilt about 380.oo..
scrap yard used 85.00.. I'm going with the scrap yard..

you gotta hit this cv looking part of the drive shaft hard , to get it to pop off..
