Let's think about flying cars, some company are moving full speed ahead to build a practical flying car now it will ready in the future uses However, don't be surprised if your neighbor invites you over some day soon to see the new flying car he/she just purchased.Don't be surprise is going to happen soon.As to flying, no one envisions using roads as runways for these cars. Instead, plans call for using existing small airports that currently cater to private, rather than commercial, aviation.

Real cars of the future are not vehicles that will roll on four wheels and look like sleek streaks of lightning or oblong tear drops that hum instead of roar. No, the true prospect of visionary transport is not bound by the winding roads but by the rush of the winds in the sky.

The Main reason most people today don't own airplanes is not because they are not smart enough to learn to fly. It is because of the initial cost of Flight training and owning and maintaining an aircraft not to mention storing it, is beyond most peoples financial means.A flying car could be the turning point of all that.

It's inevitably the future, but it's a long ways away. First we need a cheap, renewable energy source and supply that can live up to the demands of flight. When that happens, the automotive landscape will be one of many things that is affected by abundant, renewable energy.

This will be possible in future..

People have been saying that since the 50's...it's perfectly possible now. We have the technology to make safe, easy to fly, personal aircraft, but flying cars will never be the norm because we (the general public) don't care about flying cars

Popular Mechanics did an article on this a few years ago. Generally, all cars must meet manditory crash and safety standards, which rely on having strong crash resistant structures, crumple zones, sturdy bumpers, strong, safe seats, side impact beams etc etc.

All these features add lots of weight, which make it very unlikely that such a 'flying car' would ever be practical or possible, given current regulations.

In my opinion, I have noticed it is very expensive for manufacturers to get 'airworthiness approvals' for new aircraft designs. This is why relatively modest new planes tend to be very expensive, far more so than cars of similar weight and complexity. A flying car would end up being very, very expensive.

Imo it would be more reasonable to make a flying (3-wheeled) motorcycle, because they have far fewer safety regs to meet.

There's definitely a lot of political and logistic issues to be resolved as far as what the laws are going to be for flying cars. Probably why I don't have my jet pack now, darn it.

I know little about it that Israel has began research on flying cars. And they have created a demo version also.
