1978 F150 Rear Parking Light Problems1978FordF150 11-10-2009, 10:19 PM Just started acting up today... On the rear driver's side brake light, when i brake or put the blinker, it works, but when I turn on the lights it stays off. I already checked the light and it is good. I am not an expert in wiring, but I checked the wiring for hours and could not find anything that did not look connected properly. I don't know if I should order a new rear brake light socket and replace it, or at the end of the day just swallow my pride and take it to a local mechanic. Any suggestions on those who have had similar problems would be appreciated. Airjer_ 11-10-2009, 11:40 PM Sounds like a ground issue. 1978FordF150 11-11-2009, 12:20 AM Thanks, I'll make sure to check that. jd-autotech 11-11-2009, 12:36 AM switch yer bulbs just to be sure, and if you have a pigtail for a trailer check for corrotion there in the end that cause all kinds of fun stuff, but you need to check your ground and the brown wire for power going to the light. hope this helps Torch 11-15-2009, 08:42 PM I had a 1977 F-250 a while back, it had a bad ground somewhere at the back end of the truck that caused some problems with the turn signals and hazard flashers, once the ground was fixed the problems went away, sorry I'm not more help it was several years ago. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
