Hello everybody.
I'm fairly new to this site so my apologies is this is not the correct thread.
I've been hearing a lot lately that old trucks have very simple designs and that
you can make them last forever with little maintenance. I do not know if this is true but it makes sense.
Does anyone know of any extremely reliable Chevys I could look at?
ones without the pesky emissions control lights popping up every second?
I'm on a really limited budget and want to find something under $1500.
Under a grand would be fantastic though. Just something to get to work and an hour trip three times a week.
hope this makes sense.
any response will be greatly appreciated.
thanks guys.
John

1,500 won't buy much these days, you may be unrealsitic with your goals unless you plan on a lot of repairs. Rust issues are your biggest concerns. Pre emissions trucks are from about 1980 back.

Take a look at Chevy /GMC S-10 compact pick up trucks. Pre-fuel injection, for your purposes. Their resale value is pretty low, lower than the full size trucks. Most of the older ones are worn-out but you might luck out and find a good one.

I agree with max..... full size trucks rarely get this cheap unless they are complete piles of junk.
