1999 Malibu - Best Intake Manifold Gasketelipse575 11-09-2009, 03:07 PM I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what gasket to use when replacing the Intake Manifold Gaskets? I have been doing some research and it looks like the best I am seeing are Fel-Pro. Is that the case? I would really like to find one I don't have to replace in 30,000 miles! Thanks! intimadatorsquizz 11-09-2009, 03:34 PM do you have the 3.1 J engine if so i would go with the Dorman kit it has the new bolts and everything you need to do it. if you have the 3.1 M engine then this kit won't work https://www.dormanproducts.com/cgi-bin/vm91corp30r/item-dtl.w?sid=crkmPyPlcbKslakL012249824061701161&item=615-205&icrid=0x00af4d48&clt=hwrap1&vsrch_str=&vsrch_brand=&vsrch_cat=&st_amount=&end_amount=&start=&vfrom=&prev=&vnext=&category_list=:0 manicmechanix 11-10-2009, 05:35 AM I like to go with the Felpro permadry plus. I never really seen one of those leak if installed right. I like to use the Dorman bolts though because the Dorman used a bigger hex head (13mm) on the higher torqued outside bolts and that makes it a lot easier to get to them with a crows foot if I remember correctly. The Felpros had all the same size hexhead (10mm) if I'm remembering correctly. The only thing better about the Felpro bolts is they put red loctite on the higher torque bolts instead of blue loctite. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
