LSE power rack leaking again

Had our '99 regal LSE (85k miles) in for a dealer repair of a leaking power steering rack and pump last March. The dealer determined that the rack assembly and pump needed to be replaced. We agreed to a $2000 repair that has a 12 month/12k mile warranty. The dealer had to replace the pump three times before I was satisfied with the work. Remanufactured pumps squealed. Just last week, the power steering started to whine throughout lock to lock turns. That's when I noticed the puddles under the car. Took it back to the dealer and they confirmed that the hard lines going to both ends of the rack assembly were leaking. Tightening the flare connections did not stop the leak.
Now, the car has since accrued 14k miles since the first repair and the dealer WILL NOT honor the warranty. Even though it has been only 6 months or so.
Do I bite the bullet and have the expensive repair done again? I cannot determine if the current rack was defective to begin with. The service department is reluctant to work with me on this expensive matter.
Any similar situations out there?

Well, since posting this thread, the dealer got authorization from corporate to honor the warranty. I am grateful to all for helping me resolve this and save me alot of money.
