ok i have a 97 Blazer 4X4 4.3L. with a P1870. I've heard that i need to replace the valve body, so i pulled it off today and looked at it. i was also told to look at the plate to make sure that one of the balls aren't stuck, and they weren't. The plate has a bit of wear on one hole but nothing to bad. The valve body.....well what can i say. I don't know what i'm looking for but the its made of aluminum and i don't see nothing wrong with it. Can someone PLEASE tell me what i'm looking for. thanks

ok hear is some more for everyone to think of. is it possible i dont need a valve body but just a TCC, and to add on to that, the hole TCC (wire harness) or just the part of the TCC inside the valve body.

I had the Sonnax TCC kit installed on my 1997 Blazer. there's some drilling on the valve body involved that has to be right, so I had a shop do it. I think it was about $220 total, and it got me by for about 4 years before the transmission died at 140,000 miles.

I don't know what a new valve body costs now compared to the TCC kit.
