Designed for Halloween but not assembled until today,
" Halloween Hauler " SS 396 Chevelle Wagon
Expecting plenty of Trick or Treaters for Halloween.
Maybe you're expecting The Great Pumpkin himself.
Well they'll be plenty of room for all of them in this SS 396 Chevelle Wagon.
The casting itself comes fairly clean from the HW factory.
After stripping only minor flaws and casting imperfections need to be removed, along with filing and sanding out all the window openings and wheel wells of course.
Sanded with 220 and rubbed down with #3 Steel Wool it's then ready for Primer.
Primered and the roof is shot Tangelo Pearl then InterCoat Cleared and taped.
The Body is then shot Shimrin White.
Everything is painted from the inside out to assure complete coverage.
ClearCoated with HOK Urethane Enamel Clear and a healthy dose of Sparkle Gold Pearl Powder.
I mentioned the other day I was working on some Checkered Flames to go along with my new Far Out Style.
First the CheckerBoard had to be created one space and one square at a time.
Once a full line of CheckerBoard was created it was then Duplicated, moved below the first line and shifted.
This process was repeated over and over until a full CheckerBoard was completed.
Next the CheckerBoard had to be distorted to make it appear to be flowing within the flames.
Finaly the distorted CheckerBoard image is placed within the shape of the Flames.
I added extra body to the front of these flames and also extra tongues to fill up more of the side of the Chevelle Wagon.
Decals are applied, Windshield trim is freehanded, Headlights are detailed.
Custom Cut Chrome Center Caps in 6mm size dress out a rarely seen wheel from some 90's style HW Red/Wht/Blue Camaro's from KayBee Toys.
The factory Black Interior is shot with Duplicolor Adhesion Promoter, then AirBrushed a light Tan and lastly InterCoat Cleared with a dose of Brilliant Gold Pearl Powder to pull a little more light into the cab.
The use of same size wheels all the way around really changes things from the factory issued Big tire/Little tire setup.
All Products Used Are Exclusively House Of Kolor, Of Course!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Decals created in PhotoShop and printed on Clear InkJet Decal Paper from Papilio.com
Rivet reassembly for that clean permanent professional look.
