I was taking off the oil pressure sending unit from behind the intake manifold when the angle adapter for the sending unit snapped. Getting out the threads shouldn't be a problem, but what I'm concerned about is finding another adapter because the unit doesn't fit by itself. Does the adapter need to be anything special? Do I need to find something specific? Maybe go to a junk yard?

And, is there supposed to be an o-ring in the adapter for the unit to snug against?

No on O ring.
Just brass pipe thread adapter.
Some are special length and angle.
GM parts Dealer may have one.
Parts store.
Or bone yard.
Hardware store.
Some repair shops may have one off of old engine or in there junk basket.

Let us know how it goes

Found one at a dealer. $17 damn dollars, but I don't have time to go searching.
