2002 LSV8
ABS light is on. I took it to the dealer for an ABS SCAN and they said the LF speed sensor is not responding. Wow! ANOTHER speed sensor gone?...i'm replacing my third one. With the traction control disabled I am spinning the back tires on take off on wet pavement...and sometimes on dry. yea...yea...yea I got a heavy foot...but the car just has decent torque I guess. Anyway, the dealer said the LF sensor is using a different part number(4W42-2C204-A4F). No cross references to any after market parts houses. I'm confused because this part number is not showing up. Any ideas?

Try cleaning the sensor and tooth ring first. I know of a few people with LS's that have resolved wheel speed sensor issues by cleaning them.

Are you looking for the part number just so you can purchase one online rather than through the dealer? Have you tried looking it up by application and function from Fast Parts Network (http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=318)?

joegr,
I did that already. Actually I removed all 4 sensors and made sure they were clean and serviceable I just put new brakes and rotors (front and rear) on the car and did that while I had it on jack stands. The rear sensors were challenging to unplug.
Rod,
Thats a Yes. I want to buy it online to avoid having to pay the dealer markup. I don't see anything at fast parts network.

Don't be afraid to register @ Fast Parts and send them an e-mail request. The times I've contacted Torrie there his response time has been impressively quick.

I found what I needed at FPN. Seems that the dealership gave me a wrong part number. Uncle Phil (what the kids have named my car) uses the snap on type on the front and the bolt on type for the rear. Thats just one of the reasons why I keep my cars away from certified incompetence better known as the dealership. :)
